The delegation of the University of Sharjah at Mansoura University; To discuss ways of joint cooperation
Today, Sunday, October 8, 2023, Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater - President of Mansoura University - received a delegation from the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. To discuss opportunities for joint academic and research cooperation.
The delegation includes Professor Dr. Salah Taher Al-Hajj - Vice Chancellor of the University of Sharjah for Community Affairs, and Professor Dr. Faker Gharabieh - Director of the Research Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences, in the presence of Professor Dr. Muhammad Attia Al-Bayoumi - Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs and Supervisor of the Community Service and Development Sector. Environment, Professor Dr. Tariq Ghaloush - Dean of the College of Commerce, Dr. Ahmed Al-Adl - Supervisor of Expatriates Management, and Professor Sahar Al-Iraqi - Director of Expatriates Management.
At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Dr. Sherif Khater welcomed the University of Sharjah delegation to the campus, stressing the depth of the historical ties and links between the two brotherly peoples, the Egyptian and the Emirati, pointing out the importance of cooperation between Arab universities, especially the University of Sharjah, which holds a high position among universities locally and internationally.
He also confirmed that the prestigious Mansoura University is the first accredited government university in Egypt, and has been established for more than 50 years. It includes 18 colleges with various specializations established on an area of 300 acres. It is distinguished by the unique minds of its scholars and researchers, and has more than 60 distinct qualitative programs at the bachelor’s level. Bachelor’s degree, 45 programs at the postgraduate level, and 10 faculties accredited. The first two legal studies programs in English and French were also accredited at the Faculty of Law at the level of law faculties in Egyptian universities.
He also pointed out that the university has published more than 26,000 scientific papers, and includes the most influential scientists in the world, according to Stanford databases.
He added that the university won many awards at the level of Egyptian universities, as the university won first place as the best environmentally friendly university, first places in digital transformation, and best website, and its students also won first places in competitive research and innovation projects.
Professor Dr. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi reviewed that Mansoura University awards 190 bachelor’s degrees, including 160 specific programs. The university also has two twinning programs with foreign universities at the University of Manchester, namely the Mansoura Manchester Program at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, which reflects the university’s strategic plan’s keenness to create quality programs that work to meet the new requirements of the local and international labor market, and contribute to providing distinguished job opportunities for graduates.
For his part, Professor Dr. Salah Taher Al-Hajj - Vice Chancellor of the University of Sharjah for Community Affairs - stressed during the meeting the cooperation with the prestigious Mansoura University and the keenness of the University of Sharjah to achieve its strategy in accordance with the vision of its founder, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Its president, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, is now working to implement its vision by focusing on developing and supporting the educational process to serve the local community, noting that the university is now considered one of the largest and leading educational institutions in the field of education and scientific research at the state level. It works to enhance joint cooperation with various local, regional and international institutions to benefit from expertise, capabilities and experiences in the fields of academic scientific research.
After the meeting, the delegation toured some centers of excellence at the university, such as visiting the training and simulation center at the College of Commerce, the virtual bank and stock exchange, the electronic testing center, the educational halls, the conference hall, an inspection visit to the College of Medicine, and the Center for Kidney and Urinary Tract Diseases.
