Renewing a partnership contract between Mansoura University and Manchester University for medical education
Today, September 11, 2023, Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, witnessed the renewal of a partnership contract between Mansoura and Manchester Universities for medical education that lasted seventeen years through the Faculties of Medicine at Mansoura University and the University of Manchester in England.

Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, confirmed that the directives of the political leadership are the necessity of engaging and signing twinning contracts with major international universities with advanced classifications, and that the aim of this is to ensure a distinguished international level of education, and the presence of a graduate who holds an internationally and locally recognized certificate.
Pointing out that Mansoura University is always keen to partner with international universities with global weight, and to expand the availability of distinguished international university education opportunities through modern study programs that meet the needs of the local and international labor market, and that the Faculty of Medicine at Mansoura University is one of the Egyptian medical citadels and is regularly classified as one of the best. Professor Dr. Mohamed Attia Al-Bayoumi said that the university administration and the Faculty of Medicine set their sights on linking academic courses, curricula and programs to the needs of the labor market, and were keen to hold the first international partnership for a medical program in Egyptian universities.
Since the launch of the program at the beginning of the academic year 2006-2007, in accordance with the agreement signed with the University of Manchester, the program has adopted the University of Manchester curriculum under the supervision and training of the English side while teaching and evaluation from the Egyptian side. The program aims to prepare a competent graduate capable of providing high-quality health care and distinguished by continuous learning skills and basics. For his part, Professor Dr. Ashraf Shoma confirmed that the program began its studies in 2006 AD and is currently being taught by nearly 2,000 students, 50% of whom represent 27 different countries. 11 batches graduated from the program, and the program grants an international standard for a bachelor’s degree in medicine, because it adopts the curricula of one of the programs. He pointed to the excellence of the level of graduates of the program from Egypt and various scientific countries, which was reflected in their obtaining distinguished job opportunities and their presence in major medical institutions in Egypt and the world.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Negm added that the Mansoura Manchester Medical Education Program provides our students with a comprehensive foundation in the medical sciences before applying this foundation to the clinical sciences. The students receive clinical training in addition to training in scientific research methodology.
