Today, Tuesday, Mansoura University organized the university's golden jubilee celebration "50 years since the establishment of the university" under the slogan "Rich history and a promising future" in the conference hall of the university administration.

 In the presence of Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basset, President of Mansoura University, Dr. Ayman Mukhtar, Governor of Dakahlia, Major General Sherif Al-Mawardy, head of the security sector in the East Delta region, and former university presidents, Dr. Mahmoud El-Meligy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Mohamed Attia El-Bayoumi, Vice President of the University For Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ashraf Tarek Hafez, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, former university vice presidents, deans of university faculties and its vice deans, executive director of hospitals and specialized medical centers at the university, directors of hospitals and specialized medical centers at the university, members of the House of Representatives and Senate in Dakahlia, and Osama Moussa ,secretary general of Mansoura University, assistant trustees of the university, and a number of university professors and students.

The celebration witnessed honoring the symbols of Mansoura University from the former university presidents, their deputies and the former university trustees for their distinguished effort since the university’s establishment in order to raise its position locally, regionally and globally.

Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basset, President of Mansoura University, indicated that the dream of establishing Mansoura University began at the beginning of the fifties of the last century, with the visit of Dr. Taha Hussein, then Minister of Education at that time , to El-Mansoura and his meeting with its people who conveyed to him their desire to establish a university in the city of Mansoura, adding that this dream was postponed until The study began at the Faculty of Medicine in 1962 as a branch of Cairo University, then the issuance of Republican Decree No. 49 of 1972 establishing East Delta University in the city of Mansoura and then changing its name in 1973 to Mansoura University.

Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basset believes that this decision fulfilled the desire of the people of Dakahlia Governorate in general and Mansoura city in particular to establish a university in their city.

The President of Mansoura University said that one of the most important distinguishing points in the history of Mansoura University is the establishment of the Kidney and Urology Center in 1983 as the first specialized center at Mansoura University and it has gained a distinguished position globally. And the starting of the liver transplant program in 2004, with the considering from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi that the university’s liver transplant building as a national project, and a monthly report of its own would be sent to the Presidency of the Republic

Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basset added that these distinguishing points were also represented in the establishment of the Center for Communication and Information Technology at Mansoura University in 1998, then its transformation into INTLAK company a competitive in the field of technology in 2021, the establishment of the Mansoura Manchester Medical Education Program at the Faculty of Medicine in 2006, and the discovery of a research team at the Faculty of Science at the university Mansourasaurus in 2018, a dinosaur dating back 43 million years, and the university’s contribution to the establishment of Mansoura National University as the first public university to establish a private university.

Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basit Pointed that the distinction of Mansoura University to several reasons, namely, the accreditation of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation for 10 colleges at the university, including 5 colleges whose accreditation was renewed, and the Mansoura Manchester Program for Medical Education. And The university submit request as an accreditation institution to be the first accredited public university, establishment of 44 distinct programs in the Bachelor's and BA level ,40 distinct programs at the postgraduate level, the university’s reception of nearly 10,000 students from 47 countries, the university’s ranking among the best 800 international universities according to the Shanghai classification, and the university’s distinction in the field of international publishing since the publication of Dr. Mohamed Ghoneim, professor of kidney and urology at the university , the first research paper in 1970 until the number of university research published reached 26,000, including 3,326 research in 2021, 60% of them cooperated with international universities, owning 30 university operating systems serving more than 100 institutions, performing 3,200 kidney transplants and 900 liver transplant at University.

The President of Mansoura University confirmed that Mansoura University won the first place in the field of digital transformation and the best website at the level of Egyptian universities in 2019/2020.

His Excellency referred to the efforts of the state, civil society and the people of Dakahlia to donate to the establishment of Mansoura University and its continuous financial and moral support to improve its position, pointing out that these efforts have combined with the efforts of all university employees since its establishment in the distinction of Mansoura University.
